Friendship Iftar Dinner Unites Young Adults in Virginia for Ramadan Celebration

On March 14, 2025, the American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) co-hosted a memorable Friendship Iftar Dinner with the Youth Academy of Virginia, bringing together young adults from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan through shared food, faith, and friendship.

Held as part of ATFA’s ongoing efforts to foster community engagement and youth leadership, the evening offered more than just a meal. Over 100 participants enjoyed delicious food, warm conversations, and a powerful sense of unity during this special Ramadan event in Virginia.

The soulful sounds of Sufi Melody added a spiritual ambiance to the night, while engaging activities, games, and meaningful exchanges created an atmosphere of joy and connection. The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt keynote speech by Virginia Delegate Josh Thomas, who spoke about the importance of service, inclusion, and building bridges across communities.

This Ramadan iftar exemplified ATFA’s commitment to nurturing interfaith dialogue, empowering the next generation, and strengthening bonds within our neighborhoods. Events like this help ensure that the values of Ramadan—compassion, hospitality, and unity—extend beyond the month itself.

We thank all who participated and supported this beautiful evening. Together, we continue to build a more connected and compassionate community.
